Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has accused the opposition YSR Congress Party (YCP) of attempting to incite religious tensions by targeting the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and its practices. Pawan criticized the YCP’s actions, calling them a “political conspiracy” aimed at dividing the people on religious lines.
The controversy arose over the proposed visit of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to Tirumala. The YCP has been criticized for seeking a declaration from Jagan before his visit, a practice that is handled by the TTD officials. The Deputy Chief Minister argued that there is no need for coalition parties to interfere in this internal matter of the TTD.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chief Minister pointed out that the YCP’s previous attempts to ignite caste conflicts through incidents like Thuni and Konaseema are now being replaced by efforts to stir religious tensions. He urged the public and the police to be vigilant against these malicious attempts.
The Deputy Chief Minister also criticized the TTD for alleged irregularities in the preparation of Tirumala laddus, claiming that animal remains were found in the ghee used. He held the TTD board members responsible for approving the supply of such adulterated ghee and called for accountability from those involved.
The statement emphasized that the contamination of Tirumala prasadam and the TTD’s decisions are internal matters of Hindus and should not be politicized. The Deputy Chief Minister urged the TTD officials to take action against those responsible for the adulteration and ensure the purity of the prasadam.
