Mangalagiri: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has expressed concern over the police’s handling of a recent road accident near Tuni, Kakinada district, which resulted in the tragic deaths of two students. Speaking at his camp office in Mangalagiri, Pawan Kalyan criticized the police for their irresponsible behavior, stating that it could tarnish the reputation of the coalition government.
The two victims, Polishetty Revanth Srimurahari of Bhimavaram and Nadendla Niranjan of Vijayawada, lost their lives in the accident. Pawan Kalyan expressed his displeasure with how the police treated the grieving parents of the victims, particularly when they went to file a complaint. He emphasized that the manner in which the police interacted with the families caused unnecessary distress.
During the meeting, Pawan Kalyan offered his condolences to the families and provided financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakh each, through his trust, to support the bereaved families. He also apologized on behalf of the police for their poor conduct and questioned why no charges had been filed against the driver responsible for the accident.
The Deputy CM’s remarks highlight the importance of prompt and compassionate action by the police in sensitive matters involving public safety and justice.
