Sirpur: A recent surge in tiger attacks in Kumuram Bhim district has left locals on edge, following two horrifying incidents. The first occurred when a farmer, identified as Suresh, was attacked by a tiger while working in his field in Dubbaguda, Sirpur.T Mandal. The tiger ambushed Suresh, causing severe injuries before fleeing, prompting frantic cries from the locals. Suresh was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The very next day, on Friday, another devastating attack took place in Gannaram village, Kagaj Nagar mandal. 21-year-old Morle Lakshmi was picking cotton in the outskirts of Nazrulnagar when she was attacked and mauled by a tiger. Despite efforts to rush her to the hospital, Lakshmi succumbed to her injuries.
In response to these attacks, the forest department has intensified its efforts to track the elusive tiger. Aerial surveillance using drones has been deployed to aid in the search. Authorities are urging residents to remain cautious as they work to locate and contain the animal.
