Tirupati: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by Guntur Range IG Sarvashrestha Tripathi, has intensified the probe into the alleged supply of adulterated ghee used in the preparation of Tirumala Srivari Laddu Prasadam. On Sunday, the team members convened to allocate responsibilities, focusing on uncovering key details in the case.
Criminal charges are being prepared against those involved in this conspiracy. A complaint was filed by TTD Procurement GM Muralikrishna at the Tirupati East Police Station, accusing AR Dairy Private Limited of supplying adulterated ghee. The SIT began investigating under Sections 51 and 59 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, after registering the case.
Preliminary findings suggest that AR Dairy secured the tender by offering a lower price and allegedly supplied substandard ghee, deceiving both the TTD and devotees. SIT officials, including Visakha Range DIG Gopinath Jetty and Kadapa SP Harshavardhan Raju, met with TTD EO Shyamala Rao to review the tender process, including the evaluation and award of contracts.
Further investigations are underway to assess AR Dairy’s manufacturing capacity and compliance with tender terms. The SIT plans to issue notices and thoroughly inspect the company’s ghee production methods.
