Vijayawada, September 30, 2024: Former minister Vellampalli Srinivas Rao has demanded that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu apologize to the devotees of Lord Venkateswara for his controversial remarks regarding the Tirumala prasadam.
Speaking to reporters at the YSR Congress Party central office, Vellampalli criticized Naidu’s allegations of adulteration in the Tirumala laddoo prasadam. He pointed out that the Supreme Court had dismissed these claims, with even the government’s legal representative admitting that the ghee used was pure.
Vellampalli expressed concern that Naidu’s baseless accusations had caused immense distress to millions of devotees. He accused the Chief Minister of making irresponsible statements without any evidence to support his claims. The Supreme Court had also questioned the need for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter, as the issue had been kept confidential for over two months.
Vellampalli called for a judicial inquiry by a Supreme Court judge to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring the truth to light. He expressed confidence that such an inquiry would exonerate the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and restore the faith of devotees in the sacred prasadam.
