Amaravati: Undi MLA Raghuramakrishna Raju has accused former CID chief PV Sunilkumar of threatening key witnesses in the custodial torture case filed against him. In a letter to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday, Raju urged for Sunilkumar’s immediate arrest, citing ongoing intimidation of witnesses.
Raju referenced a news article published on the 27th of this month regarding the custodial torture he endured during the previous YSRCP regime. He claimed that since the publication, police officers and doctors, who are critical witnesses in the case, have been threatened by Sunilkumar.
The MLA reminded the Chief Minister that a case of attempted murder was registered on July 11 at the Pattabhipuram police station, naming PV Sunilkumar, PSR Anjaneyu, former CM Jagan, Vijay Pal, Dr. Prabhavathi, and others as accused. Raju noted that significant evidence, including witness statements, has already been gathered, but one of the accused, Vijay Pal, remains in hiding.
Raju urged immediate action to prevent further interference, stressing that Sunilkumar’s actions were obstructing the investigation.
