Smriti Irani hard slaps BBC India: BBC India’s Twitter account was stormed yesterday but not for good reasons. These days one little tweet can make you or break you. BBC made one such tweet that invited Twitterati Havoc.
Sania Mirza- Matrin Hingis won the Wimbledon 2015 women’s doubles final on Saturday but BBC India’s negligent/ racist ideology seem to make them forget that Sania Mirza also won the championship along side won the Wimbledon 2015 women’s doubles final on Saturday as they credited only Martina Hingis for the win.
“Hingis wins Wimbledon doubles final,” read the tweet.
Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani was quick to highlight the error and said “so does Sania Mirza”. The tweet, a few hours old, was re-tweeted 411 times on the social media platform. Later BBC India seem to have learnt the lesson and deleted the tweet.
