Students Riot against Security Forces in Kashmir Valley

On Thursday, a number of students chose the violent way against overnment forces in the Kashmir valley. The protest was based on the students demand to release other students that were arrested in previous clashes with the security forces.

Magam Budgam Government Degree College students took to the streets, boycotting their classes. They rioted against the forces and demand action against the forces that were allegedly involved in beating up students from Pulwama Degree College on April 15th. The students protesting also want all the arrested student released immediately.

The Magam-Kralpora road was blocked by the students and they pelted stones on the security forces. The security forces were left without a choice and burst teargas shells to disperse the crowd.

Another protest march to the main chowk was being taken out by the students of the Government Higher Secondary School Langate in Kupwara.

Dooru Higher Secondary School protested a little less violently by demonstrating and the army thrashing the students in their area. Localities have informed that the army thrashed a few students after stones were pelted at their vehicles.

The protests got to a point where shopkeepers in the affected areas, closed the shutters.

Langate Government Higher Secondary School students also protested in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district for the same cause.

The forces using tear gas on the students failed at settling the matter but erupting even more clashes.
Sopore Government Boys Higher Secondary School students also contributed to the protest. Eyewitnesses at Iqbal market near the school revealed that not only did the army throw tear gas at the protestors but also inside the premises of the school causing a lot of chaos.

The students are agitatings for the students of Pulwara Degree College. A raid at their college by forces injured around 50, inclding students.
