Hyderabad: Telangana government took a key decision continuing Ravi Gupta as the director general of police (DGP) of the state. State government on Tuesday issued orders transferring 20 senior IPS officers ranking from DIG to DGP.

Ravi Gupta is posted as head of police forces with the orders of Election Commission after former DGP Anjani Kumar was suspended on counting day. State government with its order posted Ravi Gupta as regular DGP of the state.

Former DGP Anjani Kumar is posted as chairman of Road safety authority. Rajiv Ratan is posted as DG of Vigilance and Enforcement. CV Anand who is waiting for the posting is appointed as DG of Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Abilash Bistha is posted as director of Police Academy. Sowmya Mishra is appointed as DG of Jails and SIkha Goyal is posted as Additional DG for Crime Investigation Department (CID). Mahesh Bhagavat is posted as ADG of Road safety department. Stephen Ravindra who is waiting for the posting is appointed as Inspector General of Police (IGP) Home guards.
