Hyderabad: In a major push to the health care sector Telangana government announced that it will soon issue digital health cards to all its citizens. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy addressing the gathering at World Economic Forum (WEF) summit held at Davos on Wednesday announced that the state government is in plans to bring revolutionary changes in the healthcare sector and digital health cards is one among them.
Revanth Reddy delivered a keynote address on the topic ‘Digitalisation of health care system’ at WEF and said that Telangana is considered as IT and HealthCare capital of the country. He said that health care had become a costly affair and providing top quality health care had become a costly affair. Revanth said that the state government increased the cap of Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme to Rs.10 lakh as per the election promise and provided top quality medical care to the citizens.
Revanth hopes that digital health cards will help maintain privacy of the data of patients. Revanth recalled that Hyderabad is hub for vaccine manufacturing and 33% of vaccines manufactured across the globe are made at Hyderabad.
