Hyderabad: The second phase of Telangana’s loan waiver program is set to begin on Tuesday. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the phase from the Assembly premises, with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Agriculture Minister Tummala participating in the event.
In this installment, loans up to Rs. 1.5 lakh per farmer will be waived, with the funds directly deposited into the farmers’ loan accounts. This follows the first phase of the loan waiver, which commenced on July 19 and addressed loans up to Rs. 50,000. However, some beneficiaries faced issues due to incorrect Aadhaar numbers and other technical glitches.
The Telangana government aims to resolve these issues by ensuring that the second tranche of funds is smoothly deposited into the beneficiaries’ accounts. The complete loan waiver process is expected to be finalized by August 15 or by the end of the month.
