Hyderabad: The Chief Minister announced that BRS members have called for a judicial inquiry into electricity matters, stated Revanth Reddy during a debate on taxes in the Legislative Assembly. Reddy criticized Minister Jagadish Reddy’s remarks, likening them to those of a person in Charlapalli Jail, and highlighted ongoing legal inquiries into Chhattisgarh electricity purchases and the Yadadri power plant.
Reddy demanded a legal inquiry and questioned why KCR did not appear before the Electricity Commission, suggesting a new chairman for the Inquiry Commission.
He credited Rajasekhar Reddy for preventing power cuts and noted that Hyderabad’s revenue increased due to UPA government decisions. He praised Jaipal Reddy for ensuring electricity distribution based on consumption, which allowed Telangana to receive 54% of the electricity, while Andhra Pradesh received 64%, according to the Partition Act. Reddy emphasized that Jaipal Reddy’s efforts saved Telangana from darkness.
Revanth Reddy accused the BRS government of corruption, stating that projects from BHL to civil works were given to their associates, leading to massive corruption. He called for leaders to present their arguments before the commission and criticized their attempts to mislead the courts. He noted the Supreme Court’s rejection of KCR’s argument to abolish the commission and highlighted delays in the Bhadradri and Yadadri power projects.
Reddy affirmed his commitment to exposing the truth despite past jail time, stating, “If they don’t stop telling lies, I won’t stop telling the truth.”
