Delhi: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Shivanath, also known as Chinni, met with Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to discuss the proposed four-lane flyover from Mahanadu Junction to Nidamanuru Railway Bridge on National Highway No. 16. This flyover is set to be the largest in Vijayawada city.
The meeting took place on Thursday in Nitin Gadkari’s chamber in Parliament, where MP Kesineni congratulated the Minister on his third term as the Union Minister of Roads, Transport and Highways. He also expressed gratitude for the approval of the Vijayawada East Bypass to Amaravati Outer Ring Road project.
During the discussion, MP Kesineni Shivanath urged Minister Gadkari to direct the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to submit the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the flyover by the end of the month. He requested that construction begin in the 2024-2025 fiscal year and emphasized the urgency of completing the project swiftly to alleviate traffic congestion in Vijayawada and improve access to Gannavaram Airport.
Responding positively to the requests, Minister Gadkari immediately issued orders to NHAI officials regarding the DPR. He assured MP Kesineni of full support in expediting the flyover’s construction, aiming to reduce traffic issues and enhance connectivity in the region.
