
Vijayawada: HM Dhyanchandra took charge as the Commissioner of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) on Wednesday morning. The Incharge commissioner handed over the charge to the new commissioner.
Addressing medai, Commissioner Dhyanchandra emphasized the VMC’s commitment to enhancing citizen welfare and satisfaction. “The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation’s primary goal is to ensure the satisfaction and welfare of the people. We aim to elevate the 64 wards within the city to national standards in sanitation management. Our top priorities include providing safe and clean drinking water, eliminating leakages in water pipelines, and improving sewage treatment,” he stated.
Dhyanchandra also underscored the importance of increasing greenery in Vijayawada to combat pollution and promote a healthier lifestyle. “We will take measures to increase greenery in the city to reduce pollution and enhance the quality of life. The VMC is dedicated to fully implementing projects from both the central and state governments,” he added.
Following his address, Commissioner Dhyanchandra inspected ongoing projects, including the Anna Canteen at Dharma Chowk. He directed authorities to prioritize quality in the restoration works, demonstrating his commitment to improving city infrastructure and services.
