14 died over 35 injured in flash floods at Bangladesh

14 people died, more than 35 were injured in continues landslides and flashfloods at Southeastern Bangladesh, said by officials on Saturday. The overflow of the river has marooned millions of people in more than hundred villages due to the rapid increase in rains caused by virtually persistent low in the Bay of Bengal for last two days.

The officials said that seven people died alive under the tons of mud, while other few were drained in the flood, remaining were crushed under the tree yesterday. This caused injury for more than 35 people around the region. The scenic sea resort district of Cox’s Bazar and neighboring Bandarban hill district were the worst scenes of the disaster.
“The low over Bangladesh and adjoining area persists. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and vigorous over North Bay,” said the MeT office today in a latest bulletin.
