Facebook, Twitter Celebrate Pride In Support Of Marriage Equality

FACEBOOK CELEBRATES PRIDE

Today, almost everyone in the west are cheering and showing their support following the landmark judgement taken by the US Supreme Court that Gay marriages are now legal. From Apple CEO Tim Cook to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, everyone expressed their support towards marriage equality.

However, Facebook went a step ahead in its support as it introduced a new feature that allows users to show their support by superimposing a rainbow on their Facebook’s profile picture and the initiative was started by Mark Zuckerberg himself.

Mark announced the celebrity the Celebrate Pride tool on his Facebook page soon after the decision of legalizing Gay marriages came out.

Mark in his Facebook post said “Our country was founded on the promise that all people are created equal, and today we took another step towards achieving that promise. I’m so happy for all of my friends and everyone in our community who can finally celebrate their love and be recognised as equal couples under the law. We still have much more to do to achieve full equality for everyone in our community, but we are moving in the right direction.”

Twitter also voiced its support, as it allows you to automatically create a tiny rainbow heart when you tweet with the hashtag #LoveWins.
