Islamabad: Pakistan seem to be getting bolder at least trying to look bolder. Pakistan defense minister Khawaja Asif has said that his country can use nuclear weapons against India if the necessity of war arises.
“Nuclear weapons are not showpieces, and the option to use them is always available. At this time, there is no threat of a war with India but the war threat is permanent,” Mr Asif said.
“We should pray that the situation does not go to the extent where we have to use nuclear weapons,” said Mr Asif, adding, “However, if such a situation is created, the Pakistan Army can use nuclear weapons. Pakistan is fully capable of defending its territories.”
He also added that their government has presented hard evidence of Indian support to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and Baloch separatists to world forums . His comments before PM Narendra Modi’s meet with Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif that is expected to take place in Ufa, Russia, on July 10.
