In Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district, a minor girl was allegedly attacked with a toilet cleaning acid and her throat was slit with a sharp edged weapon.
The horrifying incident occurred on the 5th of September, Monday, in the Bujabuja Nellore, confirmed the district police on Monday night. As per sources,
The 14 year old victim was home alone when her relative entered the horse and attempted rape. He chased the girl when she escaped from his grip and ran into the bathroom. He managed to enter the bathroom applying force before she locked the door from inside. Later, the accused allegedly poured the toilet cleaner into her mouth which spilt on her face causing burn injuries. When the girl escaped again and cried for help, the accused slit her throat with a sharp weapon. When neighbours noticed suspicious activity and the girl’s screaming, they informed the victim’s people, who then alerted the police.
By the time police reached the spot, the accused had fled leaving the girl in a pool of blood in the bathroom.
Mr. Vijaya Rao, the Superintendent of Police of Nellore said, “Police received some information that a minor girl was found lying at her bathroom with a deep cut on her neck and burns due to the acid used toilet cleaning on her hands.”
The victim was then immediately rushed to the Government General hospital, attached to the Medical College in Nellore. In addition, a case has been registered and an investigation has been launched.
A team of police led by Nellore rural Deputy SP Harinath Reddy swung into action and collected details. In addition, Mr. Kakani Govardhan Reddy, the Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister, visited the hospital and consoled her father and assured any help from the State Government. Mr. Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, the General Secretary of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) also rushed to the Government General Hospital and inquired about the health condition of the victim. Hours after being treated at the Government General Hospital, Nellore, the victim was shifted to Apollo Hospital in Nellore, where a team of doctors is monitoring her condition and said it to be stable.
Meanwhile, the Nellore Police said, they have certain information regarding the accused and registered a case to intensify their investigation, assuring the arrest of the accused soon.
