Vijayawada: In a dramatic turn of events, YSRCP state leader and former ST Commission member Vaditya Shankarnaik was arrested during a police raid at a high-tech brothel in Vijayawada’s upscale Patamata area. The brothel, operating under the name Studio 09 spa in Guru Nanak Colony, has been under investigation for illegal activities. Shankarnaik, a frequent visitor to the establishment, was found hiding under a bed during the raid.
The operation, led by Machavaram CI Prakash, was launched after a young man filed a complaint with video evidence exposing the spa’s involvement in high-tech prostitution. Despite attempts to evade arrest, Shankarnaik was forcibly dragged out by the police. Reports suggest he pleaded for release, but the situation escalated, leading to his arrest. He has been registered as A10 in the case.
Shankarnaik, a close associate of YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, was known for his public advocacy for tribal rights and student issues. However, his involvement in this scandal has raised serious questions about his behind-the-scenes activities. Critics have accused him of using his position to intimidate officials and police, often threatening to file atrocity cases.
This incident has sparked widespread criticism, with many questioning the integrity of YSRCP leaders. The brothel, previously raided less than two months ago, continues to operate, highlighting the challenges in curbing such illegal activities.
