Adil Ahmad Dar, a 22 year old belonging to the terrorist group Jaish e Mohammad (JeM,) was the suicide attacker in the Pulwama terror attack.

On the 14th of February, a terrorist attack killed 40 Central Reserve Police Force jawans and left several injured, in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir.

Adil Ahmad Dar, the suicide attacker, was a resident of Gundiagh village of the Pulwama district, 10 km away from the attack spot, in Jammu and Kashmir.

In 2017, Adil dropped out of school and later, in 2018, joined the JeM group.

Adil recorded a video before the blast. In the video, he said, “My name is Adil, I joined the Jaish e Mohammad a year ago. After a year’s wait, I have got the chance to do what I joined the Jaish for… By the time this video reaches you, I will be in heaven… this is my last message for the people of Kashmir.”

Adil started working at a sawmill and later, on the 19th of March 2018, he left his house and joined the militancy in the Kashmir Valley.

Adil’s father, Ghulam Hassan Dar, a town vendor, filed a missing complaint at the local police station to find his son. However, their search lasted for only a few days as they then came across Adil’s photo on social media platforms. In the photo, Adil was holding an AK 47 rifle and through the post, it was known, Adil had a new name, ‘Waqas Commando.’

According to sources, Ahmad is the third individual to be recruited as a suicide attacker by the JeM. He was hired to carry out the bomb blast in Pulwama.
