The National Investigation Agency (NIA,) on the 25th of February, said, they are close to solving the Pulwama terror attack case and have proof to indicate the link of the Pakistan Government in the case.

The Pulwama terror attack took place on the 14th of February and killed 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF,) jawans.

The NIA said, 4 to 5 militants of the Jaish e Mohammad (JeM) were behind the Pulwama attack. The NIA further claimed, the Pakistan Government helped the JeM execute the attack.

In support of their statement, the NIA said, the JeM obtained 25 kg of RDX, which is not easy to make, as the resources to make the explosives are likely to be acquired from government organisations.

Further in the investigation, the NIA also identified the owner of the Maruti Eeco, which was used by Adil Ahmad Dar, the suicide bomber responsible for the Pulwama blast. Adil rammed the Maruti Eeco into a bus, a part of a convoy of 78 vehicles, which led to the death of the 40 CRPF jawans.

According to the NIA, Sajjan Bhat, the owner of the Maruti Eeco, is a resident of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir and a student at Siraj ul Uloom school.

The NIA said, “We have the full details about the vehicle, which was sighted with the same group at least a couple of times.”

A spokesperson of the NIA confirmed the car’s chassis number as MA3ERLF1SOO183735 and engine number as G12BN164140. He further said, in 2011, the car was first bought by Mohammed Jaleel Ahmed Haqani, a resident of Heaven Colony in Anantnag. Later, on the 4th of February, Sajjad Bhat purchased the car with the purpose of carrying out a terrorist attack.

Speaking about the progress of the case, a senior NIA officer said, “We have pieces of evidence; the job of joining of dots to unravel the entire conspiracy is on. Someone brought the RDX from across the border, while another person rigged the device. The vehicle was perhaps repainted with someone doing the reconnaissance of the spot and selection of target. We have the full picture of the attack.”

However, the officials denied revealing the names of the people involved in the attack and sought two weeks to divulge the same.

Sajjad is absconding and the investigation regarding the attack is still underway.
