Hyderabad: Actor Prithviraj (Prudhvi Raj) has alleged that the social media wing of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has been harassing him for the past two days. Accompanied by his family, he lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police, stating that he has been receiving continuous phone calls and messages.
Speaking to the media, Prithvi revealed, “My phone number was added to a social media group, leading to 1,800 calls. They have insulted my mother, wife, and children. The harassment was so severe that I had to be hospitalized. I have submitted evidence against an individual named Anil and will soon file a complaint with the Andhra Pradesh Home Minister. Additionally, I will be filing a ₹1 crore defamation suit against those responsible for this harassment.”
The controversy began after Prithvi made remarks at the pre-release event of the film Laila. While discussing his character in the movie, he mentioned that out of 150 goats, only 11 remained, which sparked political controversy. Following this, YSRCP supporters launched a boycott campaign against the film on social media.
Laila, directed by Ram Narayan and starring Vishwak Sen and Akanksha Sharma, features Prithvi in a key role. The movie is set to release on February 14.
