Amaravati, June 15: Municipal Administration Minister Narayana announced ambitious plans on Saturday to make Amaravati the finest capital city. Speaking to the media, he outlined a robust development strategy set to be completed within two and a half years, emphasizing special measures for the advancement of all municipalities in the state.
Minister Narayana highlighted that farmers voluntarily handed over 34,000 acres for Amaravati’s construction in just 58 days, driven by their trust in then-Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He detailed the previous invitations for tenders worth Rs. 48,000 crores for development works in the capital region, including Rs. 9,000 crores allocated for infrastructure such as government offices, roads, and underground drainage.
Despite significant progress, many construction projects were halted at various stages. Now, CM Chandrababu Naidu has once again entrusted Narayana with the responsibility of advancing the capital’s development. Narayana vowed to work tirelessly to maintain this trust.
The minister criticized the previous government’s tax policies, which burdened the people, and highlighted the neglect of basic amenities like garbage management. He also mentioned the construction of 11 lakh Tidco houses using the latest technology to fulfill the dream of homeownership for the poor, which had been neglected by the former administration. Narayana assured that efforts are underway to complete these houses with all necessary facilities promptly.
