Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has approved developmental projects worth ₹2,723.02 crore in Amaravati. These projects will be executed with financial assistance from the World Bank, HUDCO, and German Financial Assistance. Fresh tenders will be invited following the guidelines of these institutions.
Information Minister Kolusu Parthasarathi announced the Cabinet’s decision to amend the Andhra Pradesh Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authorities (AP MRUDA) Act, 2016. This amendment allows modifications to Amaravati’s master plan, infrastructure plans, and zonal areas.
Key approvals include setting up the AM Green Ammonia (India) Pvt Ltd unit in Kakinada under the Green Energy Policy. Solar and wind battery storage projects in Nandyal, YSR, Kakinada, and Kurnool districts, with an investment of ₹2,000 crore, are also cleared, expected to create 1,380 jobs.
Additionally, the Cabinet allocated 40 acres in Chittoor for the India Reserve Battalion and 6.3 acres in Guntur for an ESI hospital. Tirupati’s ESI hospital will be upgraded to 100 beds with an investment of ₹7.4 crore.
The Cabinet also approved increased financial support for fishermen and announced filling teacher posts through Mega DSC by the next academic year. Preparations for PM Modi’s January 8 visit to Visakhapatnam were discussed.
