Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav emphasized the need for doctors to treat patients with a humanitarian approach. Addressing the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed members of the AP Medical Council at NTR Health University, the minister urged medical professionals to uphold ethical practices in healthcare. During the event, six members of the council were replaced in nominated positions, signaling a shift towards strengthening medical governance in the state.
Minister Satyakumar Yadav expressed concern over the unnecessary use of X-rays and scans, stating that such procedures should only be recommended when essential. He also highlighted the rising number of C-section deliveries, stressing the importance of promoting normal deliveries wherever possible. He pointed out that many people mistakenly believe that undergoing more tests equates to better treatment. The minister called for greater public awareness on this issue and urged doctors to maintain patient-friendly interactions, greeting them with a smile and fostering trust. He also reiterated the necessity of strictly following the National Medical Council (NMC) regulations to ensure transparent and ethical medical services in Andhra Pradesh.
