Amaravati: YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy has responded to recent controversies surrounding family assets, alleging that YS Sharmila, under the influence of TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, is attempting to undermine her brother, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Speaking from the YSRCP central office, Subba Reddy emphasized that the companies in question are exclusively owned by Jagan, with no shares held by Sharmila.
Subba Reddy clarified that these businesses, founded during YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s leadership, were solely assigned to Jagan, who recently approached the NCLT to maintain the High Court’s status quo order on these assets. He added that in 2019, Jagan had expressed his intent to share some of his self-acquired wealth with Sharmila out of goodwill, which both Sharmila and Vijayamma acknowledged and signed.
Former Minister Perni Nani also questioned Sharmila’s motives, highlighting that if she were indeed a shareholder, her name would have appeared in cases against Jagan. He suggested that her current alignment with Naidu goes against her father’s principles, despite her notable contributions to the party, like her 2012 Padayatra.
