Guntur: A case has been registered against former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and eight YSRCP leaders at the Nallapadu police station for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the MLC elections. The leaders, including Kodali Nani, Ambati Rambabu, Lella Appireddy, Nandigam Suresh, and Pinnelli, organized a program at Guntur Mirchi Yard despite warnings from officials about the election code.

The police action came after YSRCP leaders and activists reportedly disrupted traffic and caused inconvenience to farmers and traders at the Mirchi Yard. Heavy vehicles transporting goods were stopped on the road, creating chaos and hardship for farmers trying to sell their produce. The sudden halt in traffic led to significant disruptions, with lorries and vans stranded on the road, affecting the smooth functioning of the market.

Authorities stated that the YSRCP leaders’ actions violated election guidelines, prompting the filing of the case. The incident has sparked criticism from local farmers and traders, who expressed frustration over the unnecessary disruptions caused by the political event. This development adds to the ongoing political tensions in Andhra Pradesh, with the YSRCP facing scrutiny for its actions during the election period.
