Davos: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has extended an invitation to DP World, a global leader in container terminal operations, to establish its first smart container terminal in the state. During the World Economic Forum summit in Davos, Mr. Naidu held detailed discussions with DP World’s Managing Director for Central Asia and Africa, Mr. Rizwan Sumoor.

Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s strategic coastal advantage, the Chief Minister proposed Kakinada, Krishnapatnam, and Mulapeta as ideal locations for the terminal. He also encouraged DP World to explore investment opportunities in the state’s developing seaports and integrated logistics projects. Despite DP World operating five container terminals in India and managing 83 marine and inland terminals globally, Andhra Pradesh remains untapped by the company. Establishing a terminal in the state, Mr. Naidu stated, would significantly enhance international trade and economic development.

Separately, Mr. Naidu engaged in discussions with Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Archana Vyas, Director of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The talks focused on setting up an AI university, an Innovation and Incubation Center, a Center of Excellence for Health, and establishing Andhra Pradesh as a gateway to South India for innovation.
