Amaravathi: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, raised questions about YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s decision to avoid visiting Tirumala, the renowned pilgrim center. Addressing the media, Naidu questioned if anyone had specifically advised Jagan not to visit the temple. He speculated that Jagan’s reluctance to sign the mandatory temple declaration might be the reason behind his absence.
Naidu emphasized the state government’s responsibility to protect the sanctity of Lord Venkateswara and criticized Jagan for politicizing the issue. He stressed that respecting religious traditions is essential, especially when visiting sacred sites. “Anyone, regardless of religion, can visit Tirumala, provided they follow the established norms,” Naidu remarked.
He also challenged Jagan’s claims of receiving notices alongside other YSRCP leaders, asking him to produce evidence. Naidu accused Jagan of exploiting Dalits for personal gain and urged him to stop making irresponsible statements that hurt public sentiments.
In a final statement, Naidu compared Jagan’s actions to those of notorious figures and called for accountability regarding allegations of irregularities, including ghee adulteration in Tirumala.
