Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that January 3, the birth anniversary of Savitri Bai Phule, will be celebrated annually as “Women Teachers’ Day” across Telangana. The Chief Minister emphasized that this decision honors Savitri Bai Phule’s monumental efforts in advancing women’s education and uplifting marginalized communities.
Speaking on the occasion of her Jayanthi, CM Reddy lauded Savitri Bai Phule for laying the foundation for a historic transformation in Indian society. He highlighted her relentless fight against gender discrimination and caste inequality, describing her contributions as a source of inspiration for all.
“Savitri Bai Phule prioritized women’s education and justice for downtrodden communities. Her efforts remain a guiding light for our government’s mission to achieve her vision of an equitable society,” said the Chief Minister. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to fulfilling her aspirations and fostering social progress.
