Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy issued a stern warning to Congress legislators, stating that crossing the party line will not be tolerated. Chairing the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting at Novotel Hotel in Shamshabad, the CM made it clear that indiscipline and internal dissent could cost party leaders dearly.

During the meeting, four key issues were discussed, with CM Revanth Reddy emphasizing that the Cabinet’s decision regarding expansion is final. “Talking against the party will not benefit anyone. If the party is hurt, the leaders responsible will also suffer,” he warned. His comments were seen as a direct response to growing murmurs within the party ranks over cabinet expansion and internal disagreements.

The Chief Minister urged MLAs to focus on grassroots outreach and ensure that government welfare schemes reach every citizen. “Each MLA must visit all villages in their constituencies from tomorrow till June 2. I will also meet people across the state from May 1 to June 2,” he said, setting the tone for an intensive public engagement campaign.

Revanth Reddy also targeted the BJP and BRS for spreading “poisonous propaganda” against the Congress-led government. He accused them of being united in their misinformation and questioned their credibility on welfare issues. “Sannabiyyam (subsidized rice) is our patent. Why doesn’t the BJP distribute it in the states they rule?” he asked.

Close Call in Lift Mishap

In an unexpected turn of events, CM Revanth Reddy narrowly escaped a mishap after the meeting. While exiting the hotel, a technical issue occurred in the elevator he boarded, which had 13 people inside. Due to the overload, the lift failed to descend properly. Security personnel and staff acted swiftly, rescuing the CM and moving him safely using another lift. The incident raised concerns about security protocols during high-level meetings.
