Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized Hyderabad’s growing stature as a global business hub, citing the surge in demand for commercial spaces and a steady influx of international companies. Speaking at the inauguration of the Citizens Global Capability Center—established by Citizens Financial Group and Cognizant Technologies—he highlighted the city’s rapid growth and rising global interest.
“Hyderabad’s growth rate is currently at 56%, surpassing metro cities like Delhi and Chennai,” Sridhar Babu stated. He noted that last year alone, companies leased over 1.8 million square feet in the retail sector, reflecting the city’s commercial vibrancy.
Major global players such as Online, Global Logic, Eli Lilly, Marriott, and Cigna have already set up operations in Hyderabad. In a remarkable achievement, more than 70 Global Capability Centers (GCCs) have been established in the city within a year.
The minister projected that Telangana’s share in the national GDP will reach one trillion dollars by 2030. He reiterated the government’s commitment to attracting investments and generating employment opportunities for youth. He also criticized opposition parties for spreading misinformation, asserting that entrepreneurs are investing with confidence in the state’s governance.
