Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of energy sustainability alongside power generation, highlighting that adopting energy-saving methods could significantly enhance living standards. Speaking at the inauguration of the Urjaveer program, organized by the State Government in collaboration with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), Mr. Naidu outlined his vision for a more energy-efficient Andhra Pradesh.
He criticized the previous government for leaving the power sector in crisis but assured reforms to improve efficiency without revising tariffs. Encouraging green energy, the Chief Minister announced plans to establish an energy university in the State. He expressed optimism about attracting ₹10 lakh crore in investments over the next five years and generating 7.5 lakh jobs.
Mr. Naidu lauded the participation of Urjaveers—volunteers promoting energy efficiency—and revealed plans to install EV charging stations every 30 km to support growing demand. Stressing public awareness, he set a goal to boost citizens’ incomes by 15% by 2047.
Union Minister Manoharlal Khattar, lauded for his role in Vikasitha Bharat-2047, attended the event alongside other dignitaries. The Chief Minister appealed to the Union Minister for special attention to the State’s energy initiatives.
