Hyderabad: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, excise enforcement officials seized 24 kg of ganja-infused chocolates near Secunderabad railway station on Thursday. The consignment was reportedly being transported from Rajasthan to Hyderabad, with Kukatpally as its intended destination.
Officials have detained Gor Saha, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, in connection with the case. Investigations revealed that the gang was operating an illegal drug trade, selling ganja-laced chocolates at an O-tea stall in Kukatpally, a locality known for its numerous student hostels.
Authorities estimate the value of the seized narcotics at approximately ₹2 lakh. The enforcement team is continuing its probe to uncover more details about the network and other possible locations involved in the illicit trade.
The crackdown highlights the increasing attempts by drug traffickers to disguise contraband in food products. Officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
