Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his deep respect for Gaddar, the renowned folk singer and revolutionary, during the Gaddar Jayanti program at Rabindra Bharati in Hyderabad. The CM recalled seeking Gaddar’s advice during times of political isolation, emphasizing that Gaddar’s words of wisdom guided him through difficult moments. He acknowledged that Gaddar lived by the principles he believed in until his last breath.
Revanth Reddy also revealed that the state government had formally recommended Padma awards for notable figures such as Gaddar, Gorati Venkanna, Chukka Ramaiah, Andesri, and Jayadhir Tirumala Rao. He expressed dissatisfaction over the Central government’s oversight, claiming that the five individuals proposed by the state were no less deserving than others who received the award. The CM mentioned that they had written to the center to correct this omission.
Furthermore, Revanth Reddy criticized the BJP for undermining Gaddar’s legacy and emphasized that anyone who insulted the folk icon would face consequences. He concluded by suggesting that the colony be named after Gaddar to honor his contributions to the state’s culture and revolutionary spirit.
