Kakinada: Former minister Kurasala Kannababu has accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of being afraid of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRCP, which he claims is the reason for denying the party Opposition status in the Assembly.
Speaking to the media, Kannababu asserted that YSRCP is the sole opposition party and that its leader’s presence in the Assembly would expose the ruling government’s failures. He criticized Chandrababu’s speech on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address, calling it self-praise and full of lies.
He recalled how Naidu denied NTR a microphone while seizing power from his father-in-law and accused him of now manipulating opposition recognition. He also alleged that Chandrababu had mistreated former Governors, making his claims about YSRCP disrespecting the Governor hypocritical.
Kannababu slammed the government for deceiving Group-2 aspirants and spreading false claims that Jagan’s administration borrowed ₹14 lakh crore, when actual figures stood at ₹7 lakh crore. He pointed out that the coalition government borrowed ₹1 lakh crore without accountability.
Stating that YSRCP remains the main opposition, he demanded clarity on job creation claims and questioned the forced resignations of university Vice-Chancellors.
