Hyderabad: In a show of solidarity, the women of Lagacharla village, Vikarabad district, donated funds towards the BRS Rajatotsavam celebrations scheduled for April 27. The donation was formally handed over to BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) at Telangana Bhavan.

Speaking on the occasion, KTR praised the women of Lagacharla for their commitment and bravery. He recalled the recent incidents during a land acquisition dispute, where some police personnel allegedly misbehaved with women. He said the party had taken the matter seriously and had already approached the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the National Commission for Women (NCW) seeking justice.

KTR criticized the handling of the situation by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government, stating, “The NHRC has strongly condemned the attitude of the Revanth Reddy-led government and the conduct of the police. Even after such serious observations by the NHRC, Revanth Reddy has not apologized. The responsible policemen should be removed from service immediately.”

He warned that if the government failed to act, the BRS would escalate the matter to the Supreme Court. KTR also alleged that land acquisition activities were continuing despite a High Court stay order and demanded their immediate suspension.

Confident about the party’s future, KTR stated, “Our party will come to power in three years, and we will ensure strict action is taken against officers who abuse their authority.”
