Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has taken a bold step in the face of mounting accusations. On Saturday, he issued legal notices targeting several TV and YouTube channels, accusing them of disseminating falsehoods and concocted narratives aimed at blackmailing him and his family. Rao asserts that these actions are part of a calculated scheme to tarnish his reputation.
The allegations suggest that certain channels are engaging in factional tactics orchestrated with meticulous planning. Legal notices have not only been dispatched to the concerned entities but also directly to YouTube, the platform hosting the contentious content. Rao emphasized his intent to pursue defamation lawsuits against any channels persisting in spreading malicious propaganda under his name and featuring his images in unrelated contexts.
In a parallel development, a significant legal hurdle has emerged for Rao, with a criminal case lodged against him at the Banjara Hills Police Station. The complaint, initiated by Congress leader Bathina Srinivasa Rao and forwarded by the Hanamkonda Police, accuses Rao of making derogatory remarks against CM Revanth Reddy.
On Saturday, the Banjara Hills Policee confirmed the registration of a case against Rao under Sections 504 and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These sections pertain to intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace and statements conducing to public mischief, respectively.
The legal maneuvers on both fronts indicate a tense standoff, with Rao vigorously defending himself against allegations while simultaneously confronting legal challenges.
