Surat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sharp dig at the Congress while highlighting the success of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana’ (PMMY). Addressing a public gathering in Surat, he stated that ₹32 lakh crore worth of loans have been disbursed to support micro and small-scale businesses. Indirectly targeting the opposition, Modi remarked that those who secured zero seats cannot even count the number of zeros in ₹32 lakh crore.

The Prime Minister’s comments were a response to the Congress’ failure to win any seats in the Delhi Assembly elections. He was speaking at the inauguration of a food security initiative in Surat, where he also emphasized the government’s efforts to streamline the public distribution system by eliminating five crore fake ration cards. He said the new initiative in Surat would serve as a model for food security across the country.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Modi announced that he would hand over the management of his social media accounts to women for a day. The MUDRA scheme, launched in 2015, aims to provide financial assistance to small businesses and boost entrepreneurship across India.
