Who is Daya Nayak?
Daya Nayak, born in Udupi, Karnataka, came from humble beginnings. He moved to Mumbai in 1979, working in a hotel while pursuing his education. After graduating, he passed the state police exams in 1995 and joined the Mumbai Police as a sub-inspector.
Nayak rose to fame in 1996 after taking down two members of Chhota Rajan’s gang and is credited with over 80 encounters linked to the underworld. Despite controversies, including allegations of disproportionate assets, he returned to duty in 2012 as Additional Commissioner (West). His life has inspired several Hindi and Telugu films.
