Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is recovering after being injured in an attack at his residence. The Mumbai Police, using facial recognition technology, identified the suspect as Mohammed Sharipul Islam. However, forensic analysis revealed that the fingerprints found at the scene did not match those of the accused.
The incident took place in the early hours of January 16, when the attacker broke into Saif’s house and assaulted him. As part of the investigation, officers collected 19 fingerprints from the scene, but forensic reports confirmed that none belonged to the accused.
According to preliminary findings, Sharipul Islam entered the house with the intention of robbery, but the situation escalated into a violent confrontation. Following the attack, police seized Saif’s clothes for forensic analysis, as bloodstains were found on both the actor’s and the suspect’s garments. Investigators are now conducting DNA tests to confirm if the blood belongs to Saif Ali Khan.
The Mumbai Police continue to probe the case, gathering further forensic and digital evidence to establish a clear sequence of events.
