Warangal: Chief Minister Revanthreddy has expressed strong dissatisfaction over the unexpected escalation in the estimated construction cost of the multi-storey super specialty hospital in Warangal. He has promptly initiated a full forensic audit to investigate the matter. During his visit to Warangal and Hanamkonda districts on Saturday, the CM was accompanied by Ministers Damodar Rajanarsimha, Komatireddy Venkatreddy, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Seethakka, Konda Surekha, Chief Secretary Shantikumari, DGP Ravi Gupta, and senior officials.
The visit began with an aerial inspection of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Geesukonda and Sangem mandals, followed by the launch of a ‘Vana Mahotsavam’ program aimed at planting saplings within the textile park premises. Later, the CM and his team visited the under-construction super specialty hospital to assess progress firsthand. A comprehensive review meeting ensued at the Hanumakonda Integrated Collectorate, where Revanthreddy expressed his dismay over the hospital’s construction costs soaring from an initial estimate of Rs. 1100 crores to Rs. 1726 crores.
Revanthreddy emphasized the urgent need to complete the hospital within the stipulated time frame and proposed developing Warangal into a health city. He advocated for establishing a state-of-the-art children’s hospital in Orugallu, modeled after Hyderabad’s Nilofar, MGM, and Super Specialty hospitals. The CM also suggested relocating Auto Nagar to facilitate the development of healthcare facilities in the area.
