Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced a major revival of the state’s power sector, which had suffered severe setbacks between 2019-24 due to mismanagement. In just nine months, the NDA-led government has restored stability, secured ₹5.19 lakh crore in energy investments, and is targeting ₹10 lakh crore over the next five years.
The government is working on reducing the per-unit electricity cost from ₹5.16 to ₹4.80 while ensuring no tariff hikes for the next four years. Additionally, 10,000 rooftop solar installations per constituency and 4 lakh solar pump sets under PM-KUSUM will support farmers and promote green energy.
Power Reforms and Sustainable Energy Initiatives
Naidu emphasized that spot billing systems and slab-rate pricing have been reintroduced to ensure transparency and fairness. Households generating solar power can now sell excess energy to the grid, creating a new income source. The state is also setting up 5,000 EV charging stations and has received ₹1.12 lakh crore investment proposals for renewable energy projects.
The TDP-led government remains committed to clean energy, power stability, and consumer-friendly policies, reversing the past administration’s failures.
