Hyderabad: The Telangana Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has initiated an inquiry into the brutal murder of Rajalingamurthy (47), who had recently filed a case alleging that the Government of India was responsible for the collapse of the Medigadda Barrage. Following CM Revanth Reddy’s orders, the CMO officials have sought detailed reports from intelligence agencies regarding the motives behind the killing.
According to family sources, Rajalingamurthy attended a family function in Pakkirugadda, a suburb of Jangedu, on Wednesday. While returning to Bhupalappalli on his two-wheeler, he was ambushed by a group of four to five unidentified men wearing monkey caps near the Telangana Coal Mine Workers Union office. The attackers brutally assaulted him with knives and axes, leaving him fatally injured.
Locals immediately rushed him to the government hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. The circumstances of the murder have raised concerns, as the victim had taken legal action over the Medigadda Barrage collapse, a politically sensitive issue in Telangana. The CMO’s involvement indicates the seriousness of the case, with further investigations ongoing.
