Hyderabad: The appointment of a new committee for the Bhadradri Kothagudem District Youth Congress has sparked internal conflicts, leading to physical altercations at Gandhi Bhavan. The tensions erupted on Wednesday during the Youth Congress state executive meeting presided over by State President Jakkidi Sivacharan Reddy at Indira Bhavan in the Gandhi Bhavan premises.

A group of Bhadradri Kothagudem District Youth Congress leaders stormed the meeting, protesting the appointment of Gadham Karthik as the district president. They alleged that party loyalists were being overlooked in favor of recent entrants. The dispute escalated as the group clashed physically, grabbing shirts and attacking each other.

Police intervened to restore order, initially sending the agitators out of the meeting hall. However, the clash reignited outside, where Sudhir, a former district secretary, was reportedly assaulted by multiple individuals. The police eventually dispersed the groups and calmed the situation.

Youth Congress State President Jakkidi Sivacharan Reddy, addressing the state executive committee, urged the Youth Congress ranks to play an essential role in the upcoming local body elections in Telangana. He emphasized the need for local representation and active engagement in the electoral process. The meeting was attended by Youth Congress state in-charges Surabhi Dwivedi, Syed Khalid, and other senior office-bearers.
