Washington, D.C.: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed that he recently held fruitful discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. In a statement on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump claimed that thousands of Ukrainian soldiers are currently surrounded by Russian forces and face imminent danger.

“This terrible and bloody war may finally come to an end, but right now, thousands of Ukrainian forces are trapped. I strongly urge Putin to spare their lives. This could become the worst massacre since World War II. I hope God is with them,” Trump stated.

Meanwhile, Putin expressed support for a 30-day ceasefire agreement proposed by the United States, which aims to establish lasting peace and address the root causes of the conflict. Trump’s conversation with Putin reportedly took place just hours after Putin’s response to the ceasefire proposal.

The developments come as international pressure mounts on Russia to de-escalate hostilities, with diplomatic efforts intensifying to prevent further humanitarian crises in Ukraine.
