Kadapa: Yogi Vemana University (YVU) Vice-Chancellor Chinta Sudhakar and Registrar Venkatasubbaiah resigned from their positions on Saturday amid allegations of links to the Vaikapa party. The university’s principal, Raghunath Reddy, has been appointed as the in-charge registrar. Student union leaders accuse the former CM Jagan’s close relative, EC Surendranath Reddy, of corruption and irregularities in the university.
EC Surendranath Reddy, who was the registrar of Kadapa Architecture and Fine Arts University, also resigned from his post and resumed his duties as a professor of biotechnology at YVU. He had previously been promoted to professor against the rules and held the registrar post for three years during the Vaikapa government.
Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSEU) Vice-Chancellor Resigns
Sundaravalli, Vice-Chancellor of Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSEU) in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district, also resigned. Controversies arose over naming the administration building after YSR and installing a YSR statue on the campus.
Acharya Ramachandra Reddy, whose two-year tenure as VSEU Registrar ended on Saturday, resigned and moved to YVU. Acharya Sunitha took over as VSEU Registrar.
Rayalaseema University Registrar Resigns
Rayalaseema University Registrar Nagula Ankanna resigned on Saturday. Reports indicate that non-teaching staff prevented him from entering the campus, leading him to submit his resignation at a petrol station in Gutti, on the outskirts of Kurnool.
