Vijayawada: YS Sharmila Reddy, the President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during a public meeting held in Vijayawada on Thursday.
Addressing the crowd, she highlighted the dire state of affairs in the region, emphasizing the absence of a capital city. “The state has no capital. There is no state without a capital. This is the plight of our state. We don’t have anything in hand,” she exclaimed, taking aim at the government’s failure to address this critical issue.
Sharmila criticized previous administrations, including that of Chandrababu Naidu, for their grandiose promises and lack of concrete action. She referenced Naidu’s comparison of the proposed capital to Singapore and his assertion that Hyderabad was built under his leadership.
Highlighting the lack of progress and development, Sharmila pointed out the absence of job opportunities and industrial growth during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure. She warned against false promises from political parties, stating, “Jagan promised three capital and even failed to construct at least one capital.”
Sharmila urged voters to carefully consider their choices in the upcoming elections, suggesting that both Jagan and Naidu’s leadership would lead to disappointment. “This time, whether you vote for Babu or Jagan, it’s like voting in drainage,” she remarked, underscoring the critical need for accountable and effective governance in Andhra Pradesh.
