Tadepalli: The YSR Congress Party has reaffirmed its strong commitment to the Muslim community by filing a petition in the Supreme Court against the controversial Waqf Bill. Former Minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) strongly criticized the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance, accusing them of supporting the bill in Parliament while now pretending to protest it.

Addressing the media, Nani called out the alliance’s double standards, questioning how the bill could have been passed without the support of TDP and Jana Sena MPs, who also played a role in re-electing Narendra Modi as Prime Minister. He challenged Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh to pass a resolution in the Assembly if they truly support the bill.

Highlighting inconsistencies in religious representation, Nani said it was unjust that non-Hindus are excluded from temple boards, yet non-Muslims are being appointed to Waqf Boards, violating the essence of the Waqf Bill.

He also condemned recent incidents of caste discrimination, including the chaining of Dalit and BC youths on Ambedkar Jayanti, and recalled illegal phone tapping of YSRCP leaders under the TDP regime. He accused the current coalition of pushing the state toward further debt, despite poor capital investment growth and rising GSDF rankings.
