Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of solar power adoption in every home and office in the state, aiming for self-reliance in power generation and consumption. During a review meeting on the state’s ‘Solarisation’ programme, CM Naidu instructed officials to swiftly implement plans to maximize the use of solar energy.
The Chief Minister believes that the state’s favorable atmospheric conditions present an excellent opportunity for large-scale solar power generation. He urged officials to inform the public about the advantages of solar energy and to work towards meeting the targets of the ‘Solarisation’ initiative.
Naidu envisions households not only using solar power for domestic needs but also generating surplus energy that can be sold for additional income. He stressed the importance of raising public awareness and bringing Central Government schemes like PM Surya Ghar and Kusum closer to the people.
The government has already chosen Kuppam as a pilot project and aims to install solar panels on the homes of SC and ST families. Plans also include solarizing government offices and agricultural pump sets under the PM Kusum scheme, targeting 3,572 MW of power generation in the first phase.
